Create a contact
Add someone to Relatable by hand on the web, with quick capture on your phone, or just by telling Whiz.
You can add someone to Relatable in seconds: by hand on the web, mid-conversation on your phone, or just by telling Whiz.
Why it matters
A relationship starts the moment you capture someone, not weeks later when you finally get around to organizing your inbox. If it takes five minutes and three screens to add a person, you won't do it in the moment, and the moment is when it matters most.
The point of quick capture is that it's quick. You meet someone at a dinner, hear their name on a call, get handed a card, and you get them into Relatable before the context fades.
How it works
When you create a contact, Relatable builds a full profile right away, with whatever you give it: name, how to reach them, which sphere they belong to. If that email address was already sitting in your inbox as an unorganized contact, adding it through any of these paths just finishes the job instead of creating something new.
How to use it
- On the web: go to the Database page and open New Contact. Enter a name, email or phone, and a sphere, then save.
- In the mobile app: tap the capture button, choose the "a person" option, and fill in what you know. You can type it or hold the mic to speak it.
- Tell Whiz: on web or mobile, just say what you want. "Add Nancy Lin, cara@acmeco.com, to Close Friends" is enough. Whiz creates the contact and confirms back to you.
Good to know
- If the person already exists as an unorganized contact from your inbox, adding them to a sphere finishes that record rather than creating a duplicate.
- Mobile quick capture takes typing or voice. Hold the mic, speak the details, and Relatable transcribes it for you.
- Whiz will ask a follow-up question if it doesn't have enough to go on, rather than guessing.
- This article is only about creating a contact. For everything you do with a contact after that, see Manage a contact's profile.
