Whatever the channel, reaching out from a contact's profile starts in the same place: one screen, four ways to get in touch.
Why it matters
You decided to reach out, which is the hard part. The composer's job is to make sure that decision doesn't stall out on "I'll do it later from my laptop." Whether it's a quick text, a call, a full email, or a card in the mail, you can act on it right where you noticed it, on your phone, and the touchpoint gets recorded without extra work.
How it works
Open the Reach out button on a contact's profile and you get four tabs: Email, Text, Call, and Write. Email and Text start you off with a template carousel: a blank draft, an AI-drafted option, or one of your own saved templates, with merge fields already filled in with the contact's details. Email can send right from Relatable or hand off to your phone's Mail app; text hands off to Messages and then asks whether you sent it, so the touchpoint still gets logged either way. Call and Write show phone numbers and mailing addresses you can tap to dial or copy, plus a spot to log what happened, by voice or by typing. Once logged, any reminder or suggestion tied to that contact is marked handled automatically.
How to use it
- In the mobile app: open a contact's profile and tap Reach out.
- Pick a tab: Email, Text, Call, or Write.
- For Email or Text, swipe through the template carousel, choose blank, an AI draft, or one of your saved templates, and edit it if you want.
- Send. Email can go straight from the app or open in Mail; text opens Messages, and Relatable asks you to confirm once you've sent it.
- For Call or Write, tap a number to dial or copy an address, then log the interaction afterward, by voice or by typing.
Good to know
- Text always hands off to your phone's Messages app. Relatable can't send SMS directly, but it still logs the touchpoint once you confirm you sent it.
- Email can send in-app through your connected account, or hand off to your Mail app, depending on your preference.
- Sending or logging an interaction here auto-completes any matching reminder or suggestion for that contact.
- You can build and save your own text templates, alongside a starter set Relatable gives you.
- This is a great place to act on a dashboard suggestion the moment you see it, instead of letting it sit.
