Gratitude Practices That Scale

  • Thank-you notes after referrals โ€” Handwritten, specific, and prompt. Every referral should be acknowledged within 48 hours.
  • Anniversary acknowledgments โ€” The anniversary of your business relationship (close date, start of engagement) is a unique touchpoint that almost nobody remembers.
  • Unexpected gestures โ€” A book recommendation relevant to something they mentioned, a restaurant gift card for a couple you know is celebrating an anniversary, tickets to an event aligned with their interests.

Tracking Gratitude

Gratitude at scale requires tracking. Note in your CRM when you last expressed appreciation to each client, what form it took, and what personal details inform your next gesture. The system ensures that gratitude is distributed across your client base rather than concentrated on the few who happen to be top of mind.
